Episode 51 - First Tea Party

“Even so, she’s a brilliant woman.”

Theo bitterly said.

Theo and Lynn were talking in their room.

Of course, the topic is Yuwen’s eccentric attitude at the academy.

“She’s been ignoring you and harassing you a lot and then when you got invited to the royal party, she just flirted with you and you fell for it.”

Theo said in a bitter tone as usual.

Lynn has an ambiguous smile.

“So what are you going to do?”

“I’m going to take her with me.”

“Seriously? Are you sure about that?”

Theo said in disgust.

“No, I don’t know. I couldn’t think of any reason to say no.”

Theo sighed as Lynn giggled.

“You have a weakness for women too.”

On the day of the tea party, Lynn was preparing to change into full suit and go out.

“Hey Theo, is this okay?”

Lynn asks Theo while dressing in front of the mirror.

“Ah? That’s okay. It’s pretty expensive clothes, isn’t it?”

“But. It’s a royal party. I wonder if it’s okay like this.”

Lynn has rented high-end clothing to attend the royal tea ceremony.

Lynn’s outfit was high enough, but he wasn’t sure if it was suitable for a royal party.

“I don’t know. I never went to a royal party.”

“Right.”

There was nothing Theo could do about this, even if he asked.

“If you’re worried, you should wear more expensive clothes.”

“This is the limit for me.”

“Well, it’s what it is.”

“Hah”

Lynn was beginning to regret his decision to attend the tea party. Not only did he have to worry about his clothes, but also about his behavior and etiquette at the party.

Even though it was a fun party to attend, his mood was still very depressed.

However, there was no way he could be absent now.

He didn’t know what kind of a threat Yuwen would throw at him if he did that.

“But more importantly, Theo are you okay?”

When Lynn asks, Theo looks disappointed.

Lynn wasn’t the only one going somewhere he didn’t usually venture today.

Theo also has to go to the association for business. He was summoned.

The reason for this was unclear, but it seemed that the smuggling case had been exposed.

It was no wonder he was discovered.

It was obvious from Theo’s dealings with retailers that he was wholesaling goods, and it was clear from his exorbitantly low wholesale prices that he was using a different shipping method than the regular procedure.

“It’s okay. I haven’t done anything wrong.”

(He’s saying it again.)

“But what if you get sentenced to some punishment or told to quit the business?”

“Then I’ll get the hell out of here.”

Theo said angrily.

They both left the inn at the same time and headed in different directions.

Lynn went to the rendezvous point with Yuwen with a heavy heart, while Theo walked towards the Mage Association with his shoulders slumped.

Yuwen looked at Lynn with a frown as soon as they met.

 Lynn laughed in embarrassment.

“What’s wrong?”

“What’s that clothes”

Yuwen took one look at Lynn’s clothes and seemed to see the worth of them.

“No, this is the only thing I could borrow.”

 Lynn excused himself, feeling embarrassed.

“Do you have any idea how important this day is for me? What if I get embarrassed because of you?”

(But, I’m the one who was invited.)

Yuwen seemed to have already forgotten that it was thanks to Lynn that she was able to attend the party.

Lynn couldn’t help but grumble in his mind.

Nevertheless, Yuwen’s attire was quite magnificent.

Her dress was made of smooth black fabric, and it was obvious at a glance that it was made of high quality material.

The dress made her look even more pretty than usual.

Lynn was glad that he had come just to see this.

“Oh, well. Let’s get going. Let’s get in the carriage. The most expensive one.”

“What? Can’t we just walk?”

“Huh? What are you talking about?

Yuwen’s voice was thick and threatening.

“No, nothing. Never mind.”

“Damn it. Stop annoying me.”

When Yuwen said that, she stood ahead of him and walked forward.

 Lynn hurriedly followed after her.

The way she was dressed and her demeanor, it was hard to tell which of them was the accompanying one.

To the casual observer, they looked like a young lady and her servant.

They took the academy’s elevator up to the 90th level of the luxury residential district and then boarded a carriage.

Lynn was almost giddy at the price of the carriage. It had to be one of the most expensive purchases of his life.

Inside the carriage, Lynn sat restlessly in the excessively soft seat.

He had already spent an unexpected amount of money. The thought of what was yet to come made him feel uneasy.

(I don’t think they will charge me for the party, right?)

Just getting Yuwen to the venue was such an expense. If they were to ask for an inordinate amount of money at a royal party, he might go bankrupt if he wasn’t careful. Lynn looked at the invitation again to see if there was anything written on it.

Lynn and Yuwen walked into one of the largest buildings in the upscale residential area.

It was a tall building, with elevators despite the fact that it was a separate structure from the public facilities in the tower.

The lobby was filled with a large number of people from all over the world.

It seemed to be a facility that was used by people from many different countries besides the royal family of Wyngarde.

Relying on the information on the invitation and the bulletin board in the lobby, Lynn looked for the elevator that led to the venue of the Royal Wyngarde Tea Party.

“That one.”

While Lynn was wondering which one to take, Yuven quickly found the elevator with the flag of the Kingdom of Wyngarde on it and walked ahead.

Lynn once again hurried to follow behind her.

The elevator arrived at a dimly lit space.

As they stepped out of the elevator, a flash of orange-ish light illuminated their feet and their path.

It seemed to be a system that automatically turned on the light when someone approached.

The light was a unique glow, different from the light of a lamp or the white light of a sunstone.

The light seemed to have been specially processed by light magic.

The indescribable color of the light made Lynn feel dreamy.

If this was the case in the corridor in front of the venue, how many more beautiful scenes could be seen at the tea party?

“It’s a beautiful colored light. Is every nobleman’s tea party like this?”

Lynn spoke to Yuwen, but received no answer.

He looked at her and saw that her lips were tightly pressed together.

She seemed to be getting tense.

It seemed that Yuwen had never been in such an atmosphere before either.

As they walked down the corridor, they came to a door that seemed to be the entrance to the party.

There was a sign on the door that read in both Wyngarde and Magical Script.

It read, “Royal Tea Ceremony Venue, Wyngarde.”

A counter was set up beside the door. It looked like a reception desk. A pleasant old gentleman with white hair was standing at the reception desk.

“Welcome, sir. Do you have a ticket?”

The old gentleman spoke to him.

Lynn presented the ticket he had brought with him.

“You must be Mr. Lynn. We’ve been expecting you. Who are you?”

The old man said, looking at Yuwen.

“I’m Lynn’s friend. I came with him.”

“Hmm... But the ticket is only for Lynn-sama, isn’t it?”

(Eh, you can’t accompany someone?)

Because Yuwen demanded to be accompanied, He thought it was normal to be allowed to enter any tea party without a ticket if you were accompanied.

However, as far as the attitude of this old man is concerned, it seems that is not the case.

Lynn was upset.

But Yuwen didn’t flinch.

Lynn was shocked.

But Yuwen did not flinch.

“He can’t do without me.” she said.

“If I’m not around him, he becomes mentally unstable and has terrible seizures.”

“Oh, he’s sick?”

“Yes, he is.”

(What the hell is she talking about?)

Lynn was embarrassed, but Yuwen continued.

Lynn was baffled, but Yuwen continued.

“It’s especially easy to have seizures at this time of day. It’s not easy. If you have a seizure in the middle of a party. The worst that can happen is that he might die. A happy tea party can turn into a wake.”

(How can someone say something like this......)

Lynn was a little disappointed.

For a while, the old gentleman looked annoyed, but eventually broke under Yuwen’s push.

“I understand. Please wait a moment. I’ll talk to Illywia about the current situation and ask for her opinion.”

“Oh, and make sure you don’t tell anyone at the party what I just said.”

Yuven also said this avoid making themselves look bad.

In the end, the two of them passed together.

When we passed through the door, there was a kind of waiting room and rest area.

There were lockers for storing temporary luggage, a door leading to the changing room, a place to fix your makeup, and a table and several sofas for resting.

There was a young man sitting alone on the sofa, puffing on a cigarette.

Lynn gave a nod, but he looked at him with a scornful look.

“What the hell are these guys doing here?” He seemed to be saying.

Lynn and Yuwen passed through the waiting room and passed through a large door that probably led to the party’s main venue.

Lynn takes a breather at the sight and jumps in.

Another world was waiting to be explored.
