Leveling Murderer - Chapter 32

 Episode 32: Hosoya-san who disappeared

“What about Hosoya-san, Saeki?”

I call out to Saeki, following him as quickly as I can.

“I pulled into a parking lot and a guy showed up. Then Kazumi-san told me to go get you! I have no idea what's going on!”

“A man?”

“Yeah, it was a guy in a suit with glasses!”

A man in a suit with glasses?

“As soon as she saw the man, Kazumi suddenly started shaking, mumbled a few words, and then told me to hurry up and get you!”

Saeki jumped down the stairs in the office, screaming desperately.

I followed him down.

When I ran through the front door to the parking lot outside, there was no sign of Hosoya-san.

There was no sign of the man Saeki had mentioned, only Hosoya-san's car.

“Kazumi-san! Where are you! I've brought Yamato!”

“Hosoya-san!”

Saeki and I raised our voices and called out to her.

But there was no reply.

Saeki, call her cell phone.

“A-Ah, yeah, right.......”

When I said that, Saeki called Hosoya-san in a hurry.

Then - I heard the melody of a popular love song.

“That ringtone is Kazumi-san's!”

I searched for the source of the sound and found the phone under Hosoya-san's car.

“Kazumi-san's phone ...... Yamato, what does this mean?”

Saeki turns his face to me, making no effort to hide his anxious expression.

“I don’t….know..”

As I was answering this, something popped in my head.

After that, a senior employee found out about the situation and called the police.

Three police cars gathered in broad daylight, and the local residents began to gather around.

All of us were questioned by the police officers and we answered to the best of our knowledge.

And when the officers were leaving the office after questioning all of us.

“Please wait!”

Saeki, who was exhausted, stopped the police officers.

“What is it?”

“When Kazumi ...... Hosoya-san saw the man I just told you about, she mumbled something like this… “Saburo Yamazaki is”.......”

“Saburo Yamazaki? You think that's the name of the suspicious man you mentioned?”

“I don't know, but I think so.”

“Hmm. Saburo Yamazaki. ...... Okay, we'll look into that guy.”

“Please do!”

As Saeki bowed deeply, the police officers left the company.

By the time all three police cars had left, it was completely dark.

Four days had passed since Hosoya-san had disappeared.

The police informed him that no one by the name of Saburo Yamazaki had surfaced around Hosoya-san.

As a precaution, they did a thorough search of people with the same name living nearby, but found no criminal record, so the case was treated as a disappearance.

But only Saeki and I had a different guess.

“Damn it. It was definitely that guy. That guy in the suit with the glasses must have done something to Kazumi.”

“Saeki......”

“Yamato, do you really not know anything? Why did Kazumi try to call you back then?”

“I don't know....... I'm sorry.”

“Damn......”

Saeki stomped on the concrete ground on the roof of the company.

Saeki suspects that the man he saw is involved in Hosoya-san's disappearance.

And I also suspect that the man is involved in Hosoya-san's disappearance. No, I didn't suspect it, I was sure of it.

This is because the man Saeki saw had very similar characteristics to the murderer Hosoya-san had told me about.

[I just saw a serious-looking man, about a hundred and seventy centimeters tall, with short black hair all back, glasses, and a suit at the B-Mart near my office. I think he's probably a murderer.]

This is a line message I received from Hosoya-san earlier.

I don't know how Hosoya-san came to know the name Saburo Yamazaki.

Maybe there was a new spell Hosoya-san had that I didn't know about.

But one thing I do know is that Hosoya-san has probably already been killed by the murderer Yamazaki Saburo.
