Episode 7: Mandrill
“Okajima, let's go
outside.”
“Okayyy”
Okajima replied,
leaning against the back of his chair, looking annoyed.
I've warned him many
times since his first day at the company to reply properly, but it's been
completely ineffective because the managing director has been so lenient with
him.
So now I've given up on
him.
“I'm off, Hosoya-san.”
“Okay, have a good day.”
I said goodbye to
Hosoya-san and was about to leave the office.
“Oh, wait a minute!”
The managing director
looked back at me while applying lipstick.
“Yes? What is it?”
I asked.
“Not you, Okajima-kun.
Okajima-kun, come here!”
The managing director
smiled suspiciously and invited Okajima over.
“Yes, ma'am.”
Okajima walked up to
the managing director like a trained monkey.
The managing director
sat Okajima down next to her and began chatting with him while making physical
contact with his body.
The next thing I know,
the managing director put her own foot on top of Okajima's leg, a move that
would have surprised a cabaret girl.
Okajima, who doesn't
question being treated like a pet, is Okajima, but the managing director is
also the managing director.
She is not ashamed to
reveal her feminine instincts even though her own son is on the same floor.
“...... How can you do
that when you're almost 60 years old?”
“What? Did you say something?”
In response to my
voice, which sounded like a whisper of a bug, the managing director turned her
face to me with thick makeup like a mandrill.
“Oh, no, ...... we have
to go outside for work .......”
“You go alone today. I
have a special job for Okajima-kun.”
“Huh ...”
“Onizuka Paisen, take
careee.”
I'm totally fine with
that, though.
It's easier if Okajima
is not around.
But is Okajima okay
with that?
If I were you, I
wouldn't want to spend a day as a host with a fat lady nearing sixty.
I'd much rather work
outside in the heat.
“Well, I'm off.”
And so, for the first
time in a long time, I left the office without my useless colleagues in tow.

“I'm back...”
When I returned to my
workplace from the client, most of the employees had already left the office
and the only ones left were Hosoya-san, my senior, and Saeki, my classmate.
“Ah, O, welcome back,
Onizuka-kun!”
“Yamato, what's up? I
thought you went home directly.......”
“No, I couldn't take
the important documents home with me, so I came to drop them off. What are you
two doing here?”
When I opened the door
to my office, it looked like the two of them were doing something behind the
copy machine.
“Oh, uh, Hosoya-san
said something went wrong with the copy machine, so we were checking it out.”
“That's right. I was
having trouble copying anything at all......”
“Really?”
I was about to walk
over to them to take a look at the copy machine.
“Ah, it's okay now,
Yamato, it looks like it's been fixed. You're tired from work, right? You
should head home early, I'll lock this place up and leave.”
“Yeah, that's good.
Onizuka-kun, you've been busy dealing with Okajima-kun lately, haven't you?”
They said.
"Ah, well ... I
will be leaving before you, thank you. See you tomorrow."
“Bye, Onizuka-kun.”
“See you later, Yamato.”
I accepted their
kindness and left the office.
They have a thing don't they
